In the winds of Cherokee song

0 posted 2004-11-13 12:31 PM

Forbidden

Though I can journey amongst hidden trees
Capture moss in lay of palm when I please
Turn to shadow the warmth of sun in haste
Forbidden it seems ... a path to love's taste

The eye of touch goes numb to call of wind
Between endeavors of true passions blend
Broken in spirit to the chains of yesterday
On bended knee ... to promise of that day

Sincere was the quest, the hope, the dream
Triangled in powers to what others deem
Rise of stem to toast in celebrations dance
Behind screens of wonder locked in chance

Though I can journey amongst hidden eyes
Capture the tears in flow of morning cries
Turn to shadow the caress of warming bath
Bathed in taunt of desire to yesterday's path

Forbidden it seems ...

Well now, Mark.

Each time I read you, I feel like I'm on a guided hike. Like the Native American tracker, you show us the meaning in bent leaves and compressed earth--

a knowledge only experience relates.

You are such the talented naturalist writer, love quite evident - I could smell the musk of Mother Earth here.

heady in the metaphor

lovely in the literal

Sometimes things felt while reading are hard to express ... even for a long winded moth.
Im finding it difficult to put into words all the places this one takes me.
But then you already know... so I'll take the Aquarian path...

I love those lines...the images, the spirit of them... and the way you used the repetative theme and phrasing in the opening and closing verse...pulling it all together along with the title.
As always your poetry is felt from depths for it is written from such.
A bittersweet beauty MC.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.

This settles over one like a blanket of warmth right from the earth herself....
I need to wrap up in this one for awhile and come back to it again later to enjoy it's depths. So, if it's ok with you, I will just tuck this into my library and revisit it again soon...
and give it a reply worthy of it's beauty!
For now, I hope this will do!

There is no doubt in the sincerity of the heart made visible within your works Mark.
Nor the connection you so easily make with the reader.

Can relate very well to the expressions of that restless and searching wind that blows throughout this write...and the hesitation to move beyond what was.  Smiling at you.

I wish you all there is.

Karen - I believe that is one of the best if not THE best reply anyone has ever given me and I am humbled by your words.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sunshine - Thank you.

JM - You know how hard it is for me to stretch to this topic and I admit, a bit different from my norm in certain ways, so I understand the path you took and appreciate you doing so.  I remember a time when you wouldn't have been able to do so and you know what I mean by that.  The progress you have made on your path is remarkable also.  I thank you from the depths of Aquarian silence.  Love ya my friend.

Gentle Spirit - It will do just fine and I thank you much.

TD - As I have no doubt you can relate and know that hesitation quite well also.  There is that unspoken understanding that beckons voice as it seeks that warm breeze to float in on, until then, the trust will have to hold the lyrics.  Thanking you much and smiling back with the same wish for you.

vandana - Thank you dearly.  Always nice to see you pop in.

Susan - I do thank you dearly.

Enchantress - To be in your library is an honor and I thank you.

Sy - Thank you for the visit and for not asking for cotton balls.

Marge - No doubt here and I thank you much.

Maree - And your visits are a gift as well.  I do thank you much.

Sue - I always enjoy your enthusiastic replies and thank you.

Midnitesun - Sometimes there are those reasons we may not know but often time gives us the answers.

Martie - As you charm and grace always capture the hearts of many.  Thank you my dear friend.

Dark - You shoot with a straight eye for sure and I thank you.

Setting you back up in the winds of that cherokee song. A good topic I think...may give it a whirl. Trusting the music.
Thank you too.

Mark, you have the ability to take the reader by the hand teaching many lessons, and pointing out views on life...you can paint emotions of sky, the desire of earth, and powerfully execute the eyes of your mind...sincere and most humble.

Thank you for the voyage.

I'm not sure why this reminds me of an old saying heard "destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice..."
sometimes we make good choices...sometimes not so good, but we learn as we go.  I have libraried this one Mark Christoper, it is truly a wonderful write.

TD - Thank you for the double back and the song of Cherokee winds is always a good choice for the ear.

JM - Feels good to NOT be so much a moth doesn't it girlie.  You shine in metallic and float in whisper.  Thank you.

BluesSerenade - And I love it when you stop by.  You always give a smile in your reply and let me know what you liked about the write.  That means much.  Thank you dearly.

LeeJ - The words you gift me with are words that could be and should be gifted to you on any one of your works.  You have a vision of heart and soul mixed with understanding and compassion.  Thank you very much.

Gentle Spirit - Exactly it and well stated.  We all hopefully learn and move on but the crime is the punishment dished out to those that find themselves subject to judgement from past mistakes without chance of reconcile.  Thank you for the double look.

Excellent work.

This part really struck me...

"The eye of touch goes numb to call of wind
Between endeavors of true passions blend
Broken in spirit to the chains of yesterday
On bended knee ... to promise of that day"

You've come a long long way in your endeavors of expression.

Have a great day

Never forbidden... perhaps hidden from seeking eyes... but that's when the heart has to see... and believe.

A perfect penning of the reasons I gave up on love and have pursued instead...big game hunting.  Specifically tigers, dancing tigers.
