you said you felt your heart sink
when that empty just appeared
and you felt it impale on the end
of something sharp
with blades

the kind you find attractive
hollow honed
the ugly scar kind
that makes an embossed memory
the stainless kind

that appears to be untouched
when the tears are wiped off
and it is put back inside
the soft restraint of sheathe
and captured still stiletto

but you said you needed the sensation
of your vulnerable there
suspended on the pricking position
with hands ready to pull it down
and puncture the core

and I said my sword was love

A sword of love - this is the best kind with which to parry and thrust - to pierce and never withdraw - for if it is withdrawn, then the soul might flow out of the wound and the body be left hollow - the sword of love - one upon which one would indeed impale themselves -

I came in to this one for it's title I admit cause that seems to have been a topic lately.  I read and to no surprise I found another beauty of yours.  Your unique turn phrases are always a treat to the reader and give new perspective to the norm.  A pleasure to read you as always sir.

some swords are not meant to be swallowed
whole, you know? it's always a gamble with affairs of the heart
