You would know him
by the distance held
in his gaze.
Even though his smile
would say
he was living in the here
and now,
gray eyes would unveil
the mists of yesterdays gone by
that still captures the images of
that which would rob him
of clearer visions.

Time    has faded the scenes
driving them to dwell in dark places
of memories hold.
Yet, darkness cannot obscure
the grotesque pictures of devastation
and even in the face of better days
the images surface at the edge of reality.

The music of life
does not soften the horror of screams
still heard through endless internal echoes
causing the heart to bleed
with each separate sound
of devastation    reverberating
through a tormented soul.

No, you would not see
his tears
but if you listen closely
his heart can be heard
weeping.

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

And as for this?

When you write for others, you do it with style, and grace.  Kudos, little girl!

Beautiful!  I know someone like that and I have heard his heart weeping - felt it too.  Nothing one can do in the here and now unfortunately.  Wonderful write - thank you.
