The Birds

A bird sits on my front yard tree
A straw in mouth a nest to be
He bobs a little where to lace
Than weaves it in the proper place

Off he goes in search of more
He has a nest to build of straw
Industrious beyond belief
He knows the season is quite brief

He cannot stop or slow the pace
For he must find a damsels grace
He knows the proper touch of time
Nature gives just so much prime

And then she came with much display
To check the nest in every way
And when she felt the nest well done
It’s then the two became as one.

Comments on the birds and bees
It’s all within the blooming trees.

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?

I just love the wisdom of that verse.
You write me tree hugging heart with this one Sy-babers!! Natures prime wrapped in your rhyme--IM GIDDY!! LOL

*ww*

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.

I wish I had been told of the birds and bees in such a sweet and poetic manner.

I darn near tossed my angel cookies when my Dad told me the "story"! ~ Mind you, I've grown up a lot since those days! Flirty 2

Honey hugs,

Sir Sy, sigh...

Too adorable of a sonnet with an ode upon it.

hehehe, inspection to see if he is truly enamored with her graces, strong enough to build with the utmost care

a lovely piece

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
