What boundaries are there now,
Since he squeezes through somehow,
Lubricated by greasy fur
And gnawing holes in the walls,
What is there to deter,
Going to where desires call.

Watching from newly found nitch
Lusting for the last life's itch
As a ten dollar whore turns tricks
In the back alley of a bar,
Watching a drunk take his licks
As a working girl  becomes a star

Then come running the vile muggers
By the comers of the evil druggers
Preying on the unfortunate ones
That have no way of escaping;
No official cares what’s done
So continues robbery, murder, and raping.

See the bodies fall and fall again
Leaving just chalk and blood stains,
As the morgue has more than a few
With plenty to kill in the city
As all give the devil his due
Pausing not for shame or pity.

But this is just a rat’s tale
Bolstered by the putrid smell,
And rats become no wise sage
Even when born via reincarnation,
For nothing builds him to rage,
Just reacting without emotion.

There is no lust or burning desire
He’s lost all his inner fire,
Yet he’s uncaring of what he’s lost
As he savors a trash can taste
Where a greasy spoon now toss
Leftovers and other waste.

With a full belly he goes to rest
In his shredded bible nest
Tucked safely in a forgotten drawer
Worried not by transgressions
Of evils of his life before,
Gnawing on revelations.

Revelations 22: 15

For without dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murders, and isolates, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie,

Thank you, nakdthoughts,
Some have ways with words
That are never heard
Others have ways with a smile
That transits the miles

Going to where desires call."

Thank you, LeeJ
Pleased you enjoyed

Thank you, Copperbell,
If a poem make one think or feel
Then it is a success

Thank you, Ratleader,
The King James version  says “the eyes of the blind” rather than gloom,
But either fits the feel of the verses, next
19 The meek also shall increase joy…
now there is a follow-up there, maybe unintended you have stepped ahead in the series which will now turns to a different character.

Thank you, Midnitesun,
Glad to have you gnawing or nibbling.

Thank you, Sunshine,
But the three are the actually one,
I just broke them up for easier chewing.
