we did small talk
and some crayons
that made pictures
on bricks
that were not stacked

but discarded
a couple at a time
like the old days
on calendars
with the x's gone

sharing you with him
on the swing seat
I did the pushing
but you always landed
on him and said hero

he knew the woman
but I got the girl
when she was a lady
and wore cotton
with moon skin under

you were mine then
when you pressed my eyes
with a profile or two
and said do you think of me
when you take naps

and sip koolaid
under the awning
on summer day nights
and bring warm man hands
to my empty knight sky

to make my caramel sighs candy

D- you write things so lovely - your imagery is magical and a gift - I can lose myself in your words -

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

Delicious!

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

and bring warm man hands
to my empty knight sky

your words are like butterflies within cocoons finding their way out from inside

Dark,
"anything done is done better
with mirrors" is a poem in itself. Enjoyed.

========================

your personifications make the moon and the moths sigh.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.

Thomas Hardy
