somebody's dungeon

0 posted 2004-11-09 06:05 PM

The jagged edge of sunlight
slices through blinds
creating light spears
upon mauve carpet,
bringing life to the jade
plump and green,
leaves swelling with water
reaching, reaching
with fattened limbs.

They shine upon violets
of purple, and pink,
fushia in the mix,
their fur covered leaves
drinking the rays,
expanding their array
basking in afternoon glare.

The philodendron weaves
across wicker shelves,
dancing through spaces.
a ballet of hunger.
It quenches it's thirst
bursting forth green
in the luminous sheen
of the midday solar
offering.

Life happens here,
with sun, and water,
with touch, and sound
they breathe in all
take in their surround,
and give back,
with color and scent
shaded walls represent
the exchange
that takes place
  everyday.

Very nicely penned Anne.
Much enjoyed the read.
Hugs~

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

Thank you dear friend. It's been too long since I've written. My muse was on hiatus on the planet mars I think.

Earthy dear, you are too sweet. It's so nice to have plants that grow and give, bringing life inside the house. I swear I see them move their limbs when no air is even passing by. They are like pets. I know, I'm cracked. But I do so love plants.

If I wave this poem around my place, my plants are going to pack their little pots and move in with you where they'll be appreciated... I insist they thrive on neglect! *S*

I like this very much... and it's great to see you posting again!!! *S*
