so this is it, she began,
the sum total
of roughly 30 revolutions

i knew better than to interrupt

sitting by windows
you learn to envy leaves..

she paused, catching herself

all ends should be
so beautiful

i poured us another drink

a final.brilliant.outburst
colourful.

she sipped, i sighed
she'd been reading ahkmatova again

but we....too many

better than bukowski i argued
after him she's inconsolable or horny

wither and grey..

and i was too drunk to put in the effort tonight

our last breath..drags

i made the sign of the cross
and baptized my tongue in old no. 7

amen she whispered

amen.

I suspect she has a way with holy water too.

An awesome write, that leaves me smiling, and alternately frowning at my own empty glass.

tsk...good medicine.

thank you all for reading and for the words of support. i really appreciate it

and Ron, you just reminded me of a Spaceballs scene:

Radartech: Sir. The radar, sir. It appears to be . . . jammed
Dark Helmet: Jammed? ...Raspberry. There is only one man who would DARE to give me the raspberry. Lone Star!

Damn that Mel Brooks. Cheesy but oh so fun.

inconsolable or horny...?
Not that I'm not already both those things way too often, but that sounds good to me. I've really got to check out these people you always talk about.

Um, anyway. Back to the subject. You're amazing. You have so much talent or ability or maybe just a well tuned mix of both. Loved this write...
