Willow

Willow
weeping in the Californian night
green glowing light
faded with auburn
in the first sigh of autumn
filling the air
college girl smelling the air
the magic inside her filling me
the song inside me singing
in my ears, yellowing under the sun
burning for one so free and young
with a blue sweater and a crooked smile
illuminating the world for a while
then fades into the night
I can see it sometimes in the light
of the waning moon
lonely in her dorm room
for some other love, I know
so I just press my loving glow
into a red leaf of October fair
as brilliantly red as her hair
hoping she'll feel love
falling out of the blue sky above
sky written in warm hues
from me to her, to use
when she feels doubt
even if she goes out
with some other love
for me, it's enough
to see her easing pain
to see her happy again
weeping willow
brightening like an ember
of sunrise
it's such a beautiful suprise

You will have no idea just how beautiful I think this poem is but trust me you absolutely did a Willow proud.  I printed this and kept it in a very special book I have.  Thank you.

Thank you, glad you liked it! Actually, odd as it may sound, this was inspired by the character Willow from the TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which is/was actually a very funny, yet very dramatic, character-driven show. Willow's my favorite character from the show; a cute, redheaded, powerful witch. So that all led me to write this poem. Again, I'm happy you enjoyed it so much.

you portrayed this very well Zach.  Enjoyed.

Well my Willow too was a fiery red-haired "witch" too LOL, and the best friend I ever had.  Unfortunately she is an angel now, and missed terribly.  Loved your poem
