Midnight Becomes A pass fulfilled lightly, one tick, Yesterday bars some memory, just like That moment of thought You blinked away, was it set That deep inside? Did you wrangle it Tightly, holding feverishly to its slip, As points click-ticked, tricked you Into watching time undressing, Again, Did you find it pleasing? Would you Fall leaving behind summer shadows Of greener winds and sky flung rivers, Just to follow before it, itself, fell Headlong Into tomorrow As grandfather clocks begin to strike? Will you hear some cry? Midnight becomes a Silent tongue, if it is silenced With your lips, once again… Midnight becomes Shadows of you, leaning Over this balance You call Me. |
