where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2004-11-08 05:11 AM

golden
ash winged moths,
cling to my window.
I have no fear, I'll
look them in the eyes
and watch them perish
for death, although uncertain,
is inevitable.

I noticed drops turned to rain,
flowing like hot, slow poison in my veins,
cursed fire.
I am in blind rage
at death's very nature,
that it occurs at all is
heartbreaking.

Why do I
think about
how it could've ended?
Why do
I need you?

I would hold you
but it would be a waste of my love..
For I know you must go far from me
in due time..and I must not be
susceptible
to your smell or
the split second memories of your warmth..

No, I cannot
love you.

Sigh, just sigh.

Maree.

into this night i wonder, it's morning that i dread, another day of knowing of, the path i fear to tread.

Denying ourself the experience of what is, for what could be is truly self-deprevation.  I guess the older you get the more you wish to take from whatever crosses your past the best of it,  chalk up the bad to a directive to take into the next encounter, and move on.

I do understand this though, for holding back love is just fear of so many things that our human forms find unpleasant and out of our control.  There again Meghan, the older you get you learn that you need them to make you all you can be.

Excellent write.
