Dismissed at the gate,
the abandonned one
sews herself along
the ruffle of white,

waivering on the
breath of a candle,
she clings to the respite
of blackness, shying
the burial of the sands,
seeking resurrection
within a sweep of
the undercurrents,

with eyes above,
she awaits her lover's return
to fade these dead night hours.

Michele,

I do not believe I have come across more beautiful lines:

waivering on the
breath of a candle,
