Listening to every heart

From Yesterday’s Gifts

No one is given a gift from tomorrow ~
The exception being those
From yesterday

Everything that ages well has its own history
Its own realizations that all things must be...
Must face adversity, in order to give life
Honor to those that love you
Standing still, hands out, reliving gifts of grace…

A corsage, buttonholing moments of celebration
Like courage to face forward

Glove of white, still warm from a hand that touched
One’s face that felt air pockets of fragrance beheld
Within sensitivity for all time…

Pearls, holding within themselves great nuisance
For growth, in irritant of moments,
Still, we grow white with light
In time’s evolution…

And books.  Sage, waged words weighted wondrously,
Skipping generations to eyes that will do more
Than read with heart, for the giver knew they
Would listen with soul…

These, from yesterdays’ gifts,
Their history is not lost,
Neither forsaken in one’s own time,

For all may age, wither, fade, shatter, die,
But what is left behind, for those that would touch
Yesterday, and its gifts…this,

An overwhelming reminder of what we
Have, and what is to be held,
to look forward to,
living for the tomorrows

from yesterday’s gifts.

~*~

For those that do not love
Without giving it back tenfold.

Karilea..Sis, this took my breath away.
The photo is priceless as are your perfect choice of words.
Amazing talent you have m'dear...simply amazing.
~Warm hugs, Nancy~

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

Karilea,
I do believe this is one of the most prominent of gifts from your grace.

Thank you, with all of my heart.

Karilea

I don't really know how to reply.  Will a hug be enough?   ...and also one of these...

wonderful write....and the picture...fabulous...reminded me of when I travel, love nothing more then finding those out of the way used book stores, where sometimes on the back shelves, in a room hidden away from the store, one can find some very lovely old books...

Would love to see your books in real life, to browse them and touch their old covers...
I so loved this...thank you for sharing.

I've not read a more lovely picture of courage and hope.  Well done!  KJ

The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
