Some day twice beautiful
becalm and gray
feel the way the sky is holding
still
I would water the summer’s harvest
if you would eat your fill

feather light to destination
the rake at ready     you
slip and touch your wrist to ground
and I wonder at the change
so little time has found

Dredge the cloud oh day this Sunday
claims the quiet walk towards noon
twelve hours effective relief and drowsy
picking up feathers and lighting a sage smudge
just to make it through the haze to you

The rain has punctured the air now
under the canopy of garage door we contemplate
the way each drop takes the driveway
into a slurry come soon perhaps a river
even though tomorrow may be never
today I’ll be content with wet cement
---------

For my husband, Taylor and his battle with cancer.  If you pray, could you send a few this way.

Taylor, my friend...
you once told me in person...
you were planning to
see this through.

I know it's rough...very rough...
but if anyone other than your lovely wife
believed in you more, or as much,
well, my friend, that would be me...

You know you are BOTH in my prayers.

And Tay...   I, for one, know that
miracles DO occur!

And Martie?  The poem is priceless!

Priceless is each moment and you share them beautifully.  You both are now and have been for years in my prayers.  Time to lock fingers palm to palm and believe together as there are always those miracles just waiting for that door to open.  Hugs to you my friend.

You find beauty, even in this. You are one of a kind, dear lady! My prayers are added to the many, for a happy ending to all this.

Taylor is already in my prayers... but I'll nag more insistently. *S*

Martie:
God bless you and your husband.
You have penned a beautiful poem, from your heart and soul.
I know God is listening.  He never fails.  He is with you and your husband always.
Let your husband see your faith, and see you share his own faith mixed with yours in your heart and mind, and more importantly in your words.

"Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

You two will be in my prayers.

When the prayers come down to you,
Know that mine come with others too.
And when you reach for strength to bear
Know that your love is so very rare.

Hugs...Ken

Martie and Taylor - lots of energy is obviously coming your way.  Take hold and let it help during this really tough time - your poem says so very much Martie - see you next week - Paul
