Instinct

That sense, or gut feeling undeniable, the mind’s affectation of survival…

Discernment stirring a sensory…

What is that intangible dispensary of precipitous intelligence?
A siren within a body’s reaction, displaying a danger to its attraction,
while a mere reflex suffices instinct’s reduction…

Yet, the consequences irresistible, in its seduction…

So then the mind is at fault.
Or, are the eyes, nose, and flesh, the cause for a woven mesh?
That distinct promise…

The feline is said to have nine lives.
Could that be your gratifying instinct?
Or, are you as Ives, a composer in use of polytonality,
while, dispensing your pleasures with amorality?

My instinct being the more oppressive, yet my thoughts immersed and aggressive...

As that feline’s curiosity, so imagination, and fascination too is blinding.
Yet, my life would be better distinct of that to avoid living extinct.
Instead, to blend an intertwining action to coddle and heed my own,
instinct…

                          Cogito ergo sum

So very good to read you again JL.
Welcome back.

An interesting write here.
The feline metaphore is quite powerful...stirs the thought of deception, cunning...sensuality.

Our best preservation is to trust the gut feeling.  A mechanism by design to preserve our fragile mind.  The heart is stronger still.

I think, therefore "I am"

Quite the rebutle and ponderings, though, I'm inclined to believe each body possesses it's own moral standard, for their particular journey...knowing what is and shouldn't be....the mind is strong JL, and yes...absolutely..cogiton ergo sum!

Tremendous write...many ponderings along the lines of Descartes "I think, therefore I am"
Yes, indeed!

wonderful read!
