this is the story of morning.
this is the mo(u)rning in my hands:

i place an empty mug a top the old
pine table, i hear it speak
/the white whisper of dead trees/

i hear the sugar swarming my veins
i hear you wrapped carefully in the
cold november sun - cutting the window
and my day with a pierce of, oh,
how do i say, remember?

no matter the morning, truly, you are:
gathered in small pockets of my muscles
aching, small zippered strands in my hair
you are: tracing the small lines in my hands
and mouth, all of the small slits breathing. still.
--
and when it breaks this way, around
six a m with the alarm singing, with the sun,
with the short hush of the neighborhood
rustling up for work or their days –

when it opens this slowly, uncurling
tenderly, opens like some big being with great
doctor’s hands unstitching it himself,
i know that you are here somehow
with out understanding how you are here.
--
and i sway carefully in to the shower,
the clothing, the coffee. i sway still.
i hear the knots forming. i hear the
rounding and tying in my throat,
i feel it swell.

and if you ever wonder say, where ive
gone or go or don’t care at all either way
it is all right. one hand calms the other hand,
and we see:

where i continue to rest in the places
where you’ve stepped - how i round the under
side of my foot in to where your foot was
or went - round it softly, press it full.

My oh my Alicia....this is wonderful writing.
The emotion pours like tears from your pen.
I so very much enjoyed the read.

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

there is a deep place where the mind goes
and fills up with thoughts...asking questions, always pondering....yet somehow knowing...and you bring these thoughts alive
to awaken the reader through your open windows of time...well done lady
well done

I too, try not to be too blatantly worshipful of you.

You have a balance of intellect, imagery and emotion that would leave me envious, if you weren't such a lovely lady.

So like everybody else, I aspire...

into this night i wonder, it's morning that i dread, another day of knowing of, the path i fear to tread.

really nice write...

Awake through motion with curiosity to curtain your first move
Over arms length they'll break protocol

in the end it's not just you with your memories and your scars, fall on me if you ever forget how beautiful you are.
