I have no business posting
but I'm tired of all this lurking
I haven't penned a poem
cuz my mind just isn't working

So I'm gonna wedge my name
in between two worthy posts
And I ask in their behalf
that you read theirs (well read most)

It's hard to write a poem
when there's games in my Yahoo
They make me feel I need them
when there's nothing else ta do

Tonight I'll singe my hair
just to enjoy the awful smell
I have no business posting
And I wonder - could you tell?

Well, look who popped in out of nowhwere!
You've been missed, ya know.
And who says a mind's gotta be "working" to write a poem, anyway?
Scribble some more!

WoW, you have been sorely missed.  And the sentiment expressed in this piece does ring true, since we all have problems from time to time finding the beat or finding the rhyme.

By the by, if'n yer up to it, there's some mighty find stuff in Poetic Haven, in the Sanctuary forum.

Where in the rules does it say the mind has to work to write?  I would be in trouble if that rule applied. LOL  I have had that feeling many times but have never really let my pen go without ink just in case.  Great to see your name here again.  Very much enjoyed the canter in this one.

Walt~

I had no business reading
until I saw your name
then my face lit up with smiles
just because you came
To share a thought of poetry
about not writing one
Why I think that is just
the cleverest thing
I've ever seen done~

You are a welcomed sight for these poetic eyes, my friend~
