Out Making Anticlines

passing by

this is the time of lasting,
when the flowers must send their parting gifts
to lovers making dandelion wishes
for an early spring

but this
not my time with you
I can’t stay here,
not today

my words stall like kites;
I can’t say hello though I pass too close
and you are there,
always, always there
though never present

not my time
but this, this at least
your eyes say
though you are not here

that there may be other days,
other seasons
or some day in some other season
to be ours again,
no other place to be, no other
anything

forgive me
I do not mean to hurt you
though you are not here

but today I can’t,
can’t stop this
and I can’t stay here

I’ll find another bench,
face another way

for now I mean
and

hope

Jamie

This poem is so heart touching.  So many things in life bring a memory or a someone to light.  I know this feeling too.

Very touching write James...
Heart Hugs~

Now while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again..and again.

The first poem of my day draped me with smiles... and though I cling to them... this one seeps with sorrow, bringing weep. Some realities are simply heartbreaking...

forgive me
I do not mean to hurt you
though you are not here

but today I can’t,
can’t stop this
and I can’t stay here

I’ll find another bench,
face another way

for now I mean
and

hope

Your pen is a powerful one, my friend... I hope your hopes are fulfilled... Excellent write!

Always so nice to read your thoughts. I must peruse this some more to understand the depths of you.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
