The Power of Dew

A dew drop woke me from my sleep
It was a drop of mornings weep
It washed the mist from out my eyes
To look upon a rainbow sky

The awe of color struck me dumb
And there I lay in still succumb
Benumb the twisted edge of wile
That brought my face a wistful smile

A moment’s capture in its grace
Wove a shroud of mantle lace
The odor of a new moan glade
A glade, a braid, a spirit maid

I cannot say her name for sure
She was the phantom of my lure
But love shined on her pretty face
And I was caught within its grace

A pleasures treasure and a sigh
It was a rainbow caught my eye

Send that rainbow on to all...
for it surely will enthrall
the most staid of any, and, it's true...
I see the beauty in your view...

"The odor of a new moan glade
A glade, a braid, a spirit maid"

"A pleasures treasure and a sigh
It was a rainbow caught my eye"

From internal rhymes to metrical perfection ... this simply sings, Sy. Beautiful!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Sy,
It's soooo great to read your poetry again.  My internet has been down for a while, preventing my reading.  Gee, I didn't how much I missed you and everyone here!  You still have that wonderful metrical song as someone already pointed out.  Your words always sing a slow song to me, causing me to pause.   Have a great day!

While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?

days with rainbows...
Left work a while back.. and as I left, the clouds to the west parted enough that there was a beautiful double rainbow in the east...

and a gentle rain falling slow...

thanks for helping me remember that Sy..

rainbows and soul...

I am certain that if I had the opportunity ~ and the pleasure! ~ of looking into your eyes, I would see a rainbow in each one of them!

Sy, Sy, sweet cadenced Sy...
what you do with a couplet of rhyme is
a gift to time.
I do so love the way your mind works in rhyme
