A Day's Spent

I watched
as they confronted one another
in eyes

I did for them
what they couldn't do alone,
letting their leaning
bend me just a little,
(too much one-sided)

I felt impatience
tense my thoughts
while keeping the same silent

I listenened to one's wishful complaints
while meeting eyes
with the other,
whose twinkle
showed she understood

And when the day was over
sharing results with one
made it all worthwhile

Although,
I did miss you...
in the waiting

a touching closing.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.

Maureen,
You have such a style about your writing that causes me to read it slowly, seeping in
feelings.  This poem makes me appreciative of what good friends do for one and other. Your friend is fortunate to have a friend such as you.

Thank you for reading~~

I spent election day with two of my Aunts, both of whom are in their upper 80's. They are always fun to watch and be with although one is "tougher" than the other...  and by
the end of the evening and all of the next day,I am down with an almost migraine...

but it is stll worth it~~ smiling~~

Maureen,
Isn't it interesting what is said and "how" others speak?  This sounds like my grandmother and grandfather.  She always bickered with the almost silent fella, but you knew they were in love, just the same.  The eyes said it!  Thanks for your response.  It added to my understanding.
