Still
ours is the silence
of soft years,
liquid songs like lullabys
along the territory of dream,
night murmurs in me,
the milk of November
quickens out of tenuous ash,
and aquiver with something fierce
as desire, this fugitive heart,
this alchemy inspired, by fire,
as petals of dahlia
seep with the sweet sap of sequoias,
Saxony dust of rusty, pink thorns
prick the copper hours I spit
out of the mouth
of midsummer rites
of passage, consummate
the absence in blue,
unreasonable blue essences,
and may this fire, be our fire
as waiting turns into fate, imminent
this hour, still ours
is the silence
we have grown
out of the same
dark gardens.

~*~

Lovely...it would have been an excellent ending, just as it was a wonderful beginning.

thank you Sunshine...

do you think so?
lol...I don't think I wanted it to end in silence...as it has been silence since the beginning...so I left it...open

to change...lol...we'll see

..to be continued...

thanks for the love...

a most impressive melding of imagery, assonance and vocabulary. One can not read your writing without the words unique and layered coming to mind...
and as said before... impressive.

tis a hauntingly surreal and lovely garden you have sown.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.
