(Well, hey, someone has to be late to this party.)

Washing Sands

I am
a red fire
fanned
by southern winds
unafraid
to wait
through this uncontented rain
and you
unsatisfied with small things
smolder
awaiting
a salty kiss with an ocean view
but the silence
of passion inspired
in letters never sent
becomes distant poison
my misery by the page
dreamless
in cold dark places
where crickets no longer sing
even whispers get lost
and the endless gulf tides
rise and fall
with hopes and dreams

Ah Kraw, the party is never the same without all of our players...there's some leftover food, too...

Enjoyed this...can't wait to see who is unmasked after all have had a chance to read.

A couple folks come to mind, but no matter that I can't put my finger on just who you masquerade as...

You have a damned fine poem here, Krawdude

Like Ed a couple poets come to mind, but Im gonna guess Helen?
Youve got some great images here poet sir.
This was a great challenge..all the poets were well inspired. Good to read you again Kraw.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.
