The eve before voting and all through the land
some wasted time quoting with bile in their glands
the lies they’re promoting where issues should stand
discourse they’re demoting when it should expand

“That Kerry, his hair and his face and his wife!
we’re scared of a man who once offered his life
and served when we swerved when it came time to fight
unnerving such verve when our platform is blight”

"Sure millions now swell up the poverty rolls
and billions for Iraq with half of that stole
civilians (not wealthy) are paying the toll
Vaudevillians enraptured will serve as our trolls”

"We’re the haves and the have-mores, our toadies attack
Earnest discussion to hide what we lack
Percussions from babblin’ political hacks
Like rushin’ to war on a neutered Iraq"

"America hated means nothing to us
In a world that we baited in a thunderous fuss
And negated the truth of the wonder of us
We’re irate; we berate and tell you that’s a plus"

"Oh, sure we’re the Christians and God’s on our side
We know lying’s a sin but it’s spin we deny
and like old Berlin propaganda decides
It just matters who wins, it won’t matter who lied"

It seems that if Kerry had done something wrong
When he actually served, when he fought Viet-cong
Such truth can’t stay buried for four decades long
The proof here is glaring (like Rush in a thong)

In a scene quite upsetting, the sane find surreal
Is a Tricky Dick dropping by the name of O’Neill
The Neocons betting his lies will appeal
To unfortunate vets who were dealt a raw deal

John Kerry’s brave words April seventy-one
Never claimed he’d done war crimes, the truth has been spun
But repeated the stories that hundreds had done
If you deny this from reality run

Outsourcing, plant closings, lay-offs and scams
by the energy ponzi schemes rip-offs and shams
while corporate medias airways are jammed
and truth to power is out on the lam

Old folks whose medicine money is short
Whose fears are exploited as truth you distort
Pharmaceutical barons who in millions support
The lies that they save us from poison imports

Osama Bin Laden right there in your face
The incredible gall that instead of disgrace
You dare to proclaim it will help win your race
The stink of your shame never shall be erased

Your health care proposal just doesn’t exist
The insurers are millionaires on your gift list
More wealth I suppose that you think won’t be missed
By the truth you depose, in the lies you persist

And us you’ve divided like heaven and hell
All the truth you’ve drowned with the patriot bell
(this tarnishes when in a racist’s hand held
and the love of a Christian for Blacks is withheld)

On Limbaugh you druggie, O’Reilly you creep
On Hannity bleatings that entertain sheep
On Novak, On Savage, On Coulter, On War
Truth’s certain to drown when the Liar’s Club roars

That most of the poets who are worth their salt
Have long been against this is cause to exult
And reason enough for a thinker to halt
To turn and defend when we see truth’s assault

John Kerry’s testimony before the Senate 1971. There is video out there of the meeting in Detroit where Vietnam vets spoke out about atrocities they were involved in. Kerry just repeated it.

ABC sent a crew to Vietnam to determine the truth and it matches the official records, not the lies of swiftboat vets who were not there.

Time for a definite change on how politics is run on both sides of the border, Canada isn't lilly white either... while we dilly dally in the Persian Gulf and then the public hears were not militarily involved..

Hi, Richard! It pleases me to see that you have come out of "exile" (as per your place of residence lol) to place your vote ~ and to gift us with more of your thought-provoking poetry.

Now I wonder which of the presidential candidates that you plan on voting for?!?
Winky

This Canadian will be watching come election night!

I'm enjoying your additions here of late.
I have wanted to do something similar but can't seem to get past my near dispair over the state of the electorate in this country.  The lack of critical thinking is astounding!
The lack of respect displayed from high offices is embarrassing!

I read this outloud
Well, it's going into my library, and should have been read on some TV show.
Thanks m'friend, for a very creative timely write. May your dreams come true, and mine too, that we awake Wed with a reason to feel hopeful about the next four years.

Well, I see you have not lost that wit that is for sure and with it, comman sense   runs at the speed of light in your words.  I am just sitting up here praying that Americans will really think about what they are doing this time around and not just vote for the party they usually vote for, but instead the best man to do this job over the next four years.  Clever as usual you are.
