highway is coffee color
concrete flavor
with good year sprinkles
and a dash of bot dot cream
for the blur stir eyes

heard the moon today
as it slipped from a pocket sky
like metal on levies
belt buckle rub sound
against the upskirt side

of a full leather jacket
and where were the stars
rivets popped from seams
discarded into a jeweler's pouch
and tied with a surgeon's knot

left behind on some soot
socked bare foot cloud
by lovers that forgot
when they were hurrying
to writhe the impending sheets

of a rain with no known sun

sure sends a romantic into the hum of wannabe tomorrows....where jewels perch in trees for the pickin, and poets sway with a breeze of salt air and tides which sooth...
