Stop The World, I Want To Get Off

In the streets, are children crying
Guns shots ring and they are dying
Our politicians all are lying
As time and money, they are buying

Is it true the world is ending?
Or is it us that needs defending?
While mothers for their children fending
We keep on needing, keep on spending

Is it us or them we’re cheating?
Children starve while we are eating
Natural resources, we’re depleting
And all the while, ourselves defeating

Hear parents, for their children, weeping
See rain, through rooftops, quickly seeping
Feel death approaching, softly creeping
As you lay, content and sleeping

Children’s tears, they keep on pouring
Inside them, hatred, they are storing
Open your eyes and stop ignoring
I’m asking, begging, now imploring

We must all help, must not quit trying
To stop the killing and the dying
While in your bed, you safe are lying
In the streets, are children crying

Well Ruth, I am sure waiting to see what you all do down there come this week, and am praying it is not going to be the repeat of a mistake made once before.  Too many have died already and I wonder when enough is ever going to be enough?

Great write!

Exceptional Ruth,  and so very correct.  Yes,  in the streets,  all over the world,
they are dying...

(big angel hugs) Oh Ruth, I know just how you feel, as I fear for the children ever so much and in the future, when I have a family, I want my children to see an America and world where neighbors with political differences don't turn their backs away when we pass by ones mailboxes or shout labels at us, but instead we respect each others opinions and embrace one another like there is no politics, like there is no bias! (sigh) My little 15-year old sister Marielle, who I love with all my heart, got her picture on the front page of the Metro section of the Oregonian today, where she was helping out with Trick Or Vote! My eyes literally teared up in joy seeing her there and I've already tucked it in my scrapbook and gave her a big happy hug! (does happy dance) She's been a bit down lately because she's not old enough to vote, but I always hug her and say, "You may not be able to vote yet, but YOU, my sister, are doing far more than you can imagine. You're taking part in the most important job of all! The world needs passionate cheerleaders like you, and I am so proud of you for standing up and cheering us all on! That's exactly what the world needs more of, enthusiasm, support, and your heart beams with it!" (wipes happy tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, I am optimistic about this election, and believe America will get the change it wants so dearly, (I already voted Kerry, yay! ) yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ruth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light alwas shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
