The night
our moon was surrounded

bleeding red

I was
by you

in the simplest form
of floating spheres,

and your own spill
of my substance

masked by leaves fallen to the sky
a rust of autumnal sacrifice.

Songs came back
from wherever they'd been

tides

joining the starlit murder
of a beautiful kind,

with her pull
she lifted stubborn eyes

and stole my feet

to watch her
alive

with blood on my hands.

ooooohh this is so coooool
ethereal, mystical...haunting...
love the vivid, stark imagery...
so good to read ya gemma-girl.

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.

Thomas Hardy

I wish I had penned these very words.
