Eighty autumns gone,
Trunks crooked-bent, woman-tree
At work at old tasks.

Covering concrete with crepe;
Brooming a path through the leaves.

Such time as fall comes
Reflections are caught in leaves
Skipping like children

Sunshine
I'll add this to what you said and make it a another tanka.....

"Such time as fall comes
Reflections are caught in leaves
Skipping like children"

That play at games in the heaps
Of what's fallen as debris.

Thanks for reading

Then there are some falls
That leave behind pang's regret
Conversations end
Only whispers of twilight ~
Subtle shadows within reach

As Elvis would say, "Tanka! Tanka very much!"

Very impressive! I mean VERY impressive! I read it threes times and with each read I gained more appreciation of your talent!

My shadow mocks me
in the autumn full moon light
this my last trip down
a silent snow dogs my heals
and coats the mountain in white

Definitely captured a lot of thoughts and leaves them sort of dwindling slowly, nicely. I like!
