I lie in bed with pen in hand, Poised above blank page. Thoughts are streaming through my head, From silly words to sage. I yearn to write the perfect poem, That would be loved by all. But surely that's impossible, And would be an order tall. I suppose the thing for me to do, Is to write to please myself. Dreaming that my books of poems Will one day fill a shelf. |

Dear Linda, every poet jotting down his thoughts surely deep inside - not all will admit this! - yearns for the birth of an extraordinary poem. But we can't be loved by all, this is indeed impossible, so many different ways of looking at things! May you always please yourself, as you please me and so many here! your pen is a camera the rhyme is your film take a million photos make a sky in your mind and hang them all there a poem is a thousand pictures and a picture is a thousand words you do well...just let it run enjoyed this much |

Marti ~ You're a fresh breath of New Hampshire air! lol Actually I have several books of my poetry from over the years, bound into a series of books for each member of my family ~ and they do line a shelf! lol Of course, it is a never-ending project because I keep on writing! It may be a struggle for you to write each poem, but your effort is very worth it to your avid readers!!! You know how I adore your poetic offerings! I would have to say that I too would love to write the perfect poem, but I do write for me even if it is about someone or something else. The last verse says it all and I have to admit ... Your title does draw some attention that says "READ ME" lol Nice choice and equally nice read. |
