A closet Held

A closet holds the Ides of Parch
A wary past still on the march
Dated papers years of ream
The essence of a life times dream

Paper soldiers hold the fort
Drilled and trained this life of wrought
Sorted like a catalogue
Buried deep within its bog

The will was left a key of sort
To open up this fort of wrought
But shines no light to bright the way
And much was left in darkest gray

The shadows danced a dance Macabre
That brought a sigh a cry of sob
And sorrow played a tune of awe
Gone this friend forevermore

I sit in sorrows empathy
With hollows note of sympathy

I think I'm going to open
my closet doors, and let my
many binders and reams of paper
dance a jig...

Again a very touching write, dear Seymour! When we pile up everything to go through it later oh there are emotions waiting!

I can relate.

You are an infinite source of wise ponderings.

I hope our friends who are gone, are not really gone, not for evermore I mean. There is a possibility to be in touch, I believe.

Love, Margherita

Revisiting the past can be bitter sweet. A poignant and touching write, Sir Sonneteer.

You indeed are a fine poet man.

Wrapping you up in a warm embrace,

Sy, Sy your are the master of metaphor and sultan of symbols in this clever cadenced confess.
Now we all know ya got no skeletons in your closet....
dragons maybe...but no old bones. LOL

*ww*

Poetry is emotion put into measure.
The emotion comes by nature ...
but the measure is acquired by art.
