Deep within my soul
a passion
waits
for release

Buried under the burden of trials
walled behind the pain of broken relationships

Conscious and unconscious limitations
I have placed
on myself.

Ah…
but now
a stirring
a spark that longs to be kindled
a desire that has stoked the fire in my soul

Mere mediocrity will no longer satisfy
the passion consumes every fiber
true realization that I was created for more
immeasurably more
than my mind can fathom

A new path revealed
I set my feet, hands, heart and soul
on an unmarked journey
listening intently
to the voice of my Creator

Carol!
Welcome. It's exciting to see you finally posted your writing. I love this it shows the passion you feel for life and your ability to carry on. Welcome and I hope you like it here half as much as I have. Here's to many more posts.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Now this is the kind of positive poetry that women need to read, as there is definitely a better place than alone.  Nice work, and welcome to Passions.

And there lies the one answer that fits so many questions.  A wonderful contribution to these forums and a pure joy to read.  One of the most challenging (at least for me LOL ) things about free verse is the line breaks, but yours are right on an read perfectly.  They give that pause or emphasis in just the right places and that makes for good poetry.  Welcome to Passions and a cudos to Larry for bringing you to these blue pages.
