peeking through
        fractured prisms of reality

mere reflections
       of distilled thoughts

       crystallized
from truths
         filtered
through murky turbidity

sipped
        from deeply dredged wells
that held only remnants
      of human misery wallowing
in cups yet to be emptied

bitter taste of a hideous uncoveted darkness,
tainted by streaming sunlight’s bold glare

and you...standing there smugly

sunglasses in hand,
      rejecting my struggling brilliance,

dimming me into burnt ashes

burned by a heart that spits fire on love’s hearth
                  leaving behind
chilled frost bitten hands

seeking to hold buds of life

dormant, I waited

     for more fertile soils

I don't see you dimmed for long...Or dimmed very much.

Nice write!

smiling here...and waiting to watch you bloom
Small seed lays dormant
Underneath thick winter snow
Hope springs eternal

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

Such a strong assemblage of images, Kacy, any one of them would do in my solar plexus.  It is always good to read your thoughts.  Ken

Sounds like one is moving on Midnite. Nice descriptions with a nice nonchalant feeling - becoming conscious and secure of what really is. Nice pen here.
