Oh silken maid of midnight’s bliss,
of sultry soul and swaying walk.
Who lingers far beyond my step
and wanders lone her wintry stalk.

Oh siren of the watery grave
where sodden eyes now lie in yearn
of but a twinge of torrid fire
as candles wane in waxen burn..

Bespeak this soul of sailing yore,
of tales beyond the raging wave.
Of lingers of the waiting foam
as tails of nine do dance the knave.

Oh Maid of night and howl of day,
of traces light the rising crest.
Of shadows lain upon the lee
where waters still in ebbing rest.

As woeful sighs bring nigh the moon
upon the journey’s ending close.
Would then the dew slowly unfold
the petals of thy budded rose?

Ah Barry - I love the feel of this - it washes over one - well written dear Sir -

There is much to study in this beautiful writing.  I answered the call of the sea years ago; thanks for taking me back.  KJ

Magnus,
Great form and thoughts, more than what meets the eye, if I'm not mistaken.

Spellbinding write, dear Barry.
And high quality form too.
