I sat beside the rivers edge,
trying to collect my thoughts
as the rush of current lulled me
into a peaceful mood.

I pulled the tattered and worn diary
out to once again write on it's pages,
now yellow from the passing of time.
This diary was the one secret
that I had kept hidden from the eyes of others,
for it was for me, my one true treasure.

I had started writing in it at a very young age.

Sitting on the bank listening to the wind
blowing through the trees I began thumbing
through the pages of faded ink scribblings.
I read of my past, starting at chapter one.

Some of the memories seemed to come to life
right before my eyes, and I could hear
the laughter that had been captured in my youth.

That was so very long ago.

The sky became dark as I began to read
from chapter two.
The laughter faded as I recalled the time
that I had spent with you.

The skies were ominous now, roaring with
the oncoming storm.

I closed the book, knowing that chapter three
had yet to be written.

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

It IS easy to fall into the lull
of Cpat's writings, isn't it?

Until he twists the end, that is...

twists the end? hmmm.. not sure that sounds like I'm a nice person..sounds kind of like one of those wedgy things and like I'm sneaking around giving them to people...

the poem... if something wrote brought to mind a reason for you to write...then by all means...I'm pleased
