You hold me captive in your shadow,
You smite my face and make me weep.
Tho’ you have claimed all my possessions,
~ My faith and virtues I deem to keep.

Your evil ways ~ they cannot harm me,
As I ascend above the Dark.
Demons yowling in the caverns,
Deep within your raven’s heart.

Icy fingers probing inwards,
~ They dig in to the depths of me.
Tho’ flesh be locked in your possession,
My soul will be forever free.

whewwww, outstanding!!!

This was like reading Poe, or a Halloween Poem...tremendous visuals..although, if someone has hurt you as such, I feel very bad for the both of you. We humans can sometimes be so thoughtless and cruel.

You've penned the pain of such very well.

I enjoy writing on the Dark side ~ but I usually have to add some Light to brighten it up a bit! lol

We do live in a yin yangy world! Though I be female and therefore yin, my yang is bright and light!

My life is light and bright! But at times it can be quite a battle to keep it that way! lol

This was a Halloween love poem!
It was fun to write. I really got into it. In fact I was writing down the words as I was verbalizing them. Hmm...got me to wondering about what else is inside me waiting to come out! ~ and go bump in the middle of the night!
