Far from where I am going

Broken clay pdgeons
lay strewn upon a pile
of half sorted wood
behind a blushing barn
unused shells set across
a lifeless ground
drunken and inaudible
voices abound from a hill
beaneath the mist
the morining hunt is all but over
leaves flush with color
caressed by a cool autumn breeze
twigs snap under work boots
armaments bounce
in rhythm with footsteps
all mtion halts
as time carries on
with the wind
explosions of obisidan powder
shatter the silence
as quiet shrapnel
races throughout a motionless vortex
crows fly from tree tops
antlers disappear into forest shadow
bullet sits off target
embedded in the ground

(i know it's hunting season is in session or near so i figured this was appropriate. I hope you enjoy)

nice use of muffin

I like it best when the bullet hits the ground.
