She in stage rises
To cover all that would be dry
With the wet of her body
As she roils in bed too narrow
To carry the weight of her currents

And I pass watch of season to
Know

in time

All recedes again

For past the rush of flood
Comes her settling

In part for what was

And the new channels cut deep
That she now caresses
With such passion
Will be raw umbers of mud
She will scour to some degree

But she has not moved so far
That her journey to the sea
Is less

And I can say I knew when she was
a raging roar in my ears
That threatened to sweep away

Sanity…..

Yet…
someplace short
Of the eternity which lies
within a  seconds tick
I felt her wash against my soul
And the words she spoke
Simply said

“I’m made one from two”

Your river talk is always welcome, m'friend...
and I hunger for more of those stories.

I love to sit on the banks and listen to a river roar, almost as much as reading your interpretations.

You are so good - love this -

She speaks to you because you understand her.  What a lovely poem!

Wonderful line..

Short of taking you by the shoulders and just SHAKING you, tell me, Cap (wicked smile) what do I have to do to convince you to publish?

Outstanding indeed. You show a very deep connection to Nature's essence.
