I can not speak
of things past
and what role they played
in the future
I now live.

I can not change
the things already done,
nor compromise
tomorrow by going back.
But still I wonder,
in the dark recesses
of my mind,
if I had been
a different person
from the start,
how many would still be here?
And what different path
would I have taken?

Yet reality reminds me.
I am slower now
having been here beyond
my recommended time.
No longer concerned
with living.
Wasting time to think
about the life I have lived
and choices I made
and the people I have touched.
Knowing in the end
it didn't matter all that much.

I see a few different folks in this, but I'm not even going to try guessing.  Not sure who you were portraying, but this is an incredible write.  Proffessor Gloom maybe??  hmmm....
well done Susan..

I have a feeling the poet
you have emulated will enjoy
this very much.

I know I did!

I'm guessing either icebox or Gloom by the theme, but there are a couple others it might be, though I'm still letting this one 'settle in' until the poet comes into clearer view.

I'm thinking Raph.

Great work Susan

Yes, I was trying to wear Icey (Icebox).

Icey, I am so sorry, I am afraid I can not do you justice...but you know I love ya, right?

Susan, you did a great job! Look at how many of us picked him? That means we all have read him often enough to 'see' him here, and you painted a fine portrait.

Too true Sweet Lady!

I am honored, thank you.
