Do you remember how the day played
in the measured covertness of fall
how in the swirl of a moment
we were wrapped up in leaves
and felt    free?

We closed our eyes in the pulse of her
and listened to the vibrations of trees
the ensemble of branches
in the breeze

so in the nakedness of that afternoon
we laid forever in our arms
and our roots into layered earth

that we now call home.

and I am haunted
by my illicit exquisite dream
but I can't really wake up
so I just drift in between

Now, to me this seems to scream of Martie....but I'm really bad at this guessing game...
I enjoyed it very much Maree!

I've been pretty awful at this too.

So, I'll be back and try to read it a little deeper than the words.

(Awesome poem btw, no matter who you're writing)

Good God, Maree . . .
I am stumped here . . .
it is too simple for Martie,
too obvious for Karen,
not illicit enough for Michele,
too short for Ron . . .

but it is a beauty of a write!

I read this as soon as you'd posted, but held back from pulling off the mask so soon.... too easy, this one -- so clearly done that it would be impossible to miss! Done well, and with class...
