and she looks up at the clock
as if the world were ending
her breath is cold and her hands are numb
the heater is broken in her car
make believe he's next to you
and maybe you'll be warm

she cleans schools at night for a living
she needs a new car
and her kids don't have proper winter clothes

maybe he'll come back
