Victorious, the spoils of war overflowing,
consummate the vaulted prize...Standing before
the throne, a memory kept inside.

Whence doth the wilting heart rest in subtle
murmur?  Where rains have fallen on the
weathered lands.   Where long the breath is
held freely...as noble one man stands.

Wilt not the voice of courage, the shouted
proclaim be heard.  The cry of one’s last
victory....beyond the grail in word.

For in the hour of darkness, when moons
do crease the stars, When comets burn
most brightly....far yon the warrior Mars.
Thence I say it is, as shoal waters wait
the weary traveler.

For in the short of hours, when laughter
rings an ear....a warrior never cowers
though sadness brings a tear.

Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

This makes me want to ask
the spirits that wander
fields,
what did the warrior think of
in the dark short of night...

well done, sir...
