How sure is sure?

Only a fool is sure of sure and
The ambience of its allure
A mountain top or valley green
Is but a conjured mental scene

At least the ones that I have fed
And issued from illusions bed
That played their dance of love and pain
Upon the shadows of my brain

I’ve learned to conjure in a wile
With apt and crafty place of guile
Feed the grit and mill of seed
To make of it a meal of need

Some make of it an Ivy tower
Complete with all the sense of power
A press that makes the dream by ream
And daily prints the seem of dream

It is the paper left my door
An epilogue of evermore

Dear Seymour, I just discussed this topic with my son. Through doubt we look for certainties. We never stop to explore ... and that's the good thing.
Thought provoking write here, so beautifully shared.
Love, Margherita

Might a small but cunning raven have visited
your door, Sir Sy?  Evermore??

Good Morning.

No only that

May I once again repeat.

Ah, so you believe in the theory of chaos - me too - one can never be sure of sure- too many variables and then there is always the whimsy of the unexpected.

And yet you wouldn’t  jump from that mountain top,

When I was young, ~ I mean "younger"! I tended to talk in absolutes. Everything was "definitely this" or "definintely" that.

As I have matured I have come to see and appreciate the grays in life. This new attitude also allowed me to be open to more possibilities in life.

I enjoyed your wisdom pearls, Sir Sage!

Hugs with love,
EA

I think it's a buddhist saying that I think of,

"the moment you have found it, know you are lost"

That is what this reminded me of...

you are a dear and wise soul sy.

Thank you.

Your words bring a vision that seeps from deep in my soul. Only it doesn't stay, for as soon as it appears, I don't know where it goes.

I do know that sure is never a sure bet! Never!  Where it not for unrest and choas we would not have any history, art, science, religion, etc. you smart cutie patootie you!

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all art and science.
