Winter’s harshness girds the apex of
loin’s embers as breath pants upon
the frosted pane.

Countless chimes of grandfathers
have woken the slumbering dreams
of passion now chilled and lying
still.

Leaves darken the eyes of watchfulness
and bring to bear a calm from a
storm that once brewed in wait the
petal’s blossoming.

Straws stand ragged the fields of minds,
awaiting a whispered wisdom of truth
which fills the wanting soul.

Soon the dusk shall cover all of dawn’s
birth as a life’s walk wanders aimlessly
the hills of sweetness and the settled
shimmering of waters deep shall cool
the wearied feet.

Bring to ears the sounds of angel’s....
as life once born is brought before
the reaper’s blade and a shroud lies
gently upon the still breath of me
beyond the call of ears deafened by
darkness...serene

Barry

Lots of real vivid image lines in this. A very enjoyable read because I could feel the words rather than just read them.

Especially liked the feel of dusk masking dawn...what a great expression, among many.
Also find such inspiration in your works.

The opening stanza alone would have been enough, but you followed it up with more, and more until . . . serene!

Super write my friend....
