Heading to China

Waking up in the middle of life
Day dreams of a past float through
Standing still yet seeing the world pass by in a flurry
Numbness consumes the outer shell
While an inferno burns in the back of the mind
Tear drops rolling down as those foggy images play in the mind
In a quest for what is unseen forgetting about what is
Clouds pour down the rain washing away existence as a whole
Dizziness spinning me like a nightmarish merry-go-round
The daylight of reality finally crack the locks on my eyes
Confusion feeling like cement shoes
Falling down with my fists pounding against the dirt
A scream wishes to escape from my lips
Yet it is silenced by the reminisces of my comatose state
Hands clasped together praying for what can not be
Others trying to tell me it is not possible
My mind does not want to listen
Wishing for my wasted days
Those times taken for granted
Eyes squinting for a far off light that is nothing more then a mirage
Always coming back to the same fact
Time passes us all by
Having to come to terms
That I am no different then that wilting rose
I will be just another grain of sand in the wind
A smile cracks my dour expression
I finally realize I am no longer blind
And it all came to be before my demise

Tomorrow comes for those who fear it.
Today never ends for those who live it.

Lying In A Hammock At William Duffy’s Farm
In Pine Island, Minnesota

Over my head, I see the bronze butterfly,
Asleep on the black trunk,
Blowing like a leaf in green shadow.

Down the ravine behind the empty house,
The cowbells follow one another
Into the distances of the afternoon.

To my right,
In a field of sunlight between two pines,
The droppings of last year's horses
Blaze up into golden stones.

I lean back, as the evening darkens and comes on.
A chicken hawk floats over, looking for home.
I have wasted my life.

good job...

remember what you've learned..

knowledge like this comes with its own pain.

Perhaps the pain, as much as the knowledge, makes us grow.

You write with clear emotions here.
Well done.

Time does not pass anyone by poet.
It sifts to the surface what has been hidden, and leaves it for the sun to make clear.

Hugs,
