Unwanted Valentine Sonnet

Oh Why, Oh Why, do hearts but plague my day
In news, on signs, I have no place to hide
It is a curse, some crafty witch has made
And if it doesn’t stop I’m sure I’ll die
Another pair, with hand in hand they stroll
And smile the light of love within their eyes
A golden string that binds their very souls
This poor this ratchet heart just asks me why?
An answer I once knew when we were them
And probably came close a time or two
But life rewrites a teary sudden end
A tragedy, the death of I love you…
A tear is shed for all the love I see
For lonely is this prisons rusty key.

An Old Man Looks at the Young Kissing

The yearning
to make it all there is
to life,

their lips
so painfully curled
around that thought.

Park, Park, Park,

this makes me feel sad, thinking that you still may not have found your Irish Lass.

Hope all is well with you.

How is that boat sailing???

Good to read your words again.

Corrine,

Yes that Irish lass is eluding me. I'm going to have to go over to Ireland then they can't hide.

As for sailing, up here the weather is below zero and soon the lake will be a hard white skating rink.

Ah, I forget how cold it gets up there. Way down here, we can sail year 'round, although it is foggy this morning and we were awakened by the horn of an oil tanker coming into the strait.

We have a marina here, too, I walk there every day, fantasizing about living on a boat one day.

Hope all is well with you.

Grab yourself a little sail boat, life will be fun and scary at the same time.

Parker, I identify with this one.  Why do I feel so much aloner on Valentines? Because they rub it in, that's why.
