the sky lowers, black on black
rain pelts
at my blinded windows
vertical

missy higgins sings for me

and i find myself

drowning

in you

in your oceanic eyes
that hold storms of the sea
perfectly
with shadowy fish
tangled
deep

i see all this

save for my reflection

and I am haunted
by my illicit exquisite dream
but I can't really wake up
so I just drift in between

Maree

As you always do...you paint emotion into the scene of your poem, with just a few well chosen words.  Much enjoyed!

Hey Ron, I second you there . . .
Maree, you always astound me

I saw sheets of water falling down huge panes of glass . . .

A reflection searching the horizon of calm perhaps.  Always enjoy your writes and this one is no exception.  You have a unique talent for saying so much in so little words but never failing to express your thoughts or visions.  Excellent.

Quite a beautiful poem, the images in embedded inside leave the reader speechless.

Maree, as always with your poetry, I am sitting here in awe of your talent. I wish that I had the ability to get across what I want to say in as few words as you do.

By the way, that picture of you up there is awesome, too.
Hugs,
Ethel

I missed it and went looking for it.  Tasty!  Visually delicious as always.  You have such a gifted way of painting masterpieces whenever the mood strikes you to pen anything.  I imagine your grocery list would be something I'd be proud to have authored!  You sink so much time, energy, and passion into everything you write it radiates back to the reader infinitely.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate your writing, and to that end, how much encouragement and inspiration I receive from you to continue writing myself.  You are a gifted girl...no question.  Back to the top with this one!

Warm regards as always,

Kevin
