Liquid Walls

Echoes of silence resonating against velvet drapes
Enticing caress in scalloped walls of life's escapes
Projected images in conversation of warm embrace
Flow from liquid canyon currents caught in chase

Wisps of whisperings rested between lobes and lash
Give credence to thought tangles dangling in sash
Upsweep of recline bared to silk canvas cross in cry
As a parade of preludes danced across emerald sigh

Solfeggio scale erupts in the ancient visions learned
Refreshing inquire of souls as silently they yearned
Breaths of wisdom dwell in these added tones of two
Emphasized in syllables of unspoken dreams in view

Lyrics of comfort quick step in every beat from chart
Pacing the churn of anticipation in cascading heart
Steady the burst riding a swirl between burgundy halls
Written in promise where barriers flow in liquid walls

'intone, oh my servants
these verses from me'

Part of a Bahai prayer, translated from the original Persian. I 'created' my own notes, sang this prayer for some friends, but did not know until someone more familiar with ancient chants pointed out to me that I seemed to favor an ancient Gregorian note scale. Your poem reminded me of that night, my first awareness of the solfeggio scale.
You never know what notes your poetry will release. Thank you, for this has helped release a healing energy I need today.

I still don't know much about solfeggio, but understand it has something to do with natural healing through vibrations, a way to balance yin/yang, and that there is some relationship between mathematical formulas of 3-6-9. LOL, guess its time to do some serious studying?

Lovely write Mark, but trust me I have had those liquid walls once to often and they done went down the drain!   Firm and steadfast ahead to where it takes one?  Who knows?  The journey is worth the time invested though.  See, did you know all that came through?  LOL.

Lauren - Still I wonder but then again, I never read my own til months later.  Thank you so much.

Maree - Your spirit and wonder are what is wonderful and I thank you dearly.

Magnus - Thank you much for those ever so kind words.  You sir inspire in your own writes and I always enjoy the interaction.

Martie - And I still hold firm that you are the 8th wonder of the poetic world.  Thank you dear one.

Enchantress - Thank you and I am glad you enjoyed.

Midnitesun - Just knowing that this has reached you in any way is a reason to have written it.  Study away and I know you won't be disappointed.  Vibrations can come in the simplest forms of note.  Listen to the silence and feel the tone.  Thank you very much for the sharing of your thoughts on this.

ThisDiamond - Understanding is no more than being open to the possibilities of what could not be.  As for the spirit and the inspire, well that is a circle that you yourself are a part of and a familiar, distinct pattern that you project.  I thank you kindly for your generous response.

Linda - I do hope it is a tonic you can appreciate.  Thank you for taking the time to feel the intent in this piece.

Mysteria - It has been a journey of time and a journey with many inscriptions left in the heart.  I know it is worth the time invested in it as I live it.  Liquid walls do allow entrance with the right password.  Thank you dearly for your investment in this piece.

I usually don't have the right words to say what a poem makes me feel or what I thought about it...

all I can say is "awesome" or "beautiful" because it touches me in a way I can't express

forgive my lack of words

Echoes of silence resonating against velvet drapes
Enticing caress in scalloped walls of life's escapes

=====================================

what a lovely luxurious opening...
immediately you pull the reader in with rich imagery and rhyme.
~~~~~~~
Flow from liquid canyon currents caught in chase
Wisps of whisperings rested between lobes and lash
Give credence to thought tangles dangling in sash
=============================
and now the moth is giddy...
those lines rock...
the alliterations, the assonance, the word play, the internal rhymes...
and yes oh yes..the personifications.
When read aloud this is a perfect blending of cadence and harmony.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Upsweep of recline bared to silk canvas cross in cry
As a parade of preludes danced across emerald sigh

=========================

"parade of preludes"

youre so cool.
and yeah...
ya aint kidding about the sigh

Solfeggio scale erupts in the ancient visions learned
Refreshing inquire of souls as silently they yearned
Breaths of wisdom dwell in these added tones of two
Emphasized in syllables of unspoken dreams in view

==============================

that verse is poetic gold..
for the imagery, the expression of intent,
for the personify and all the layers it's inspire holds...
~~~~~~~
Steady the burst riding a swirl between burgundy halls
Written in promise where barriers flow in liquid walls
==================================
"liquid walls" ....
*smiling at you for that personify and symbol*
Yeppers...a high inspire in deed..
both in poetic form and in emotional expression.
This is really a beautiful poem MC...
a melody of anitcipation and promise.
Heart on sleeve poetry...youre at your best.
and I do so love when ya do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do, in rhyme.
Ink runs from the corners of my mouth.
Called me back for another read...because I was thinking that all barriers should melt in liquid, when people find that second chance at trust. Smiling.
JM - I take it you didn't like this one and you don't think I should give it to her then.   Thank you so much for always giving heart and soul in your replies and making me feel as if my poetry does hold a little something.  YGLTGIH ... N!!!
Sue - Well hello and thank you for those kind words.  You are appreciated much.
Eric - If you surely do like it then I surely am pleased as I hold your opinions very high.  Thank you my friend.
Susan - Thank you much for the beauty in your reply, but dreams?  Never?  Been pinched many times and I feel every one of them.
Marge - I do know that the imspire is very special and I thank you dearly.
ThisDiamond - Yes and there are slow melts and quick melts, some cool and some hot.  There is balance in the between and the real test is to find the balance without getting frost bit or burned.  Thank you for the revisit and the second look at the words.
"Liquid Walls" conjures more than a few images (grin, I'm sure you can imagine too) but the first thought I had was of this new massage machine--pulsating jets of water sheathed beneath plastic--so one can climb in fully clothed and have a complete water massage while never getting wet.
(My insurance didn't cover that. )
But your poetry, and reading you is close to what I imagined that therapy might be.
in other words?
fully clothed?  well of course, is there any other way? Then you said "But your poetry, and reading you is close to what I imagined that therapy might be."
But would getting wet be an option compared to the machine?   Thank you dearly sweet thang.  I do appreciate you more than ya know and you still owe me that dance?
