Too lonely of a feeling
Them closing time blues
When you wander home alone
Even if the music rocks
For the solitary walk back
To four walls of lonely times

Oh those closing time blues
Let that last drink rock ‘n roll
For all the single women have left
And the bartender does not have a bust
Make it a double for the misery home

Damn the closing time blues
My old lady kicked me out of the mansion
And brought in her young stud
Saying she needed more excitement
I said I could get Viagra
But she says she needs a stronger engine
To shift her gears

Oh those closing time blues
Making me cry into my drinks
Watering them down from forgetting
That she drives him around in my muscle car
She renamed it her love machine
Gear shifting him around town
Showing off her prized possession
Which bankrupted my bank account

Damn the closing time blues
Oh hell give me another double for last call
For it is a long bitter staggering walk
To my one room efficiency
Oh those closing time blues
Those closing time blues
Closing time blues
Freezing cold blues

They made films of this stuff in the past
Now we don’t dare talk of hypocrites, religion or politics unless we are allowed to and through the proper channels.

I still watch Blazing Saddles, partly because this lot would never allow it.

To me it discriminated against everyone without favour.

Basically because we are all a bunch of hypocrites in minor to major degrees and the bigger the hypocrite the more you hear the voices, in case someone looks at them to tell you the world is better for the voices from above, but that is Politics and an honest man who is not feeding the money, doesn't get appointed.

Brought me to it... and yes, it seems a lonely place. You gave it voice though, and my reason may be different, but I too hate the lonely walk back home. Well said...

Dave, stick around...it won't be long before you meet her in the same bar because her young stud left her for a younger woman, the mansion is too big when empty, and the love machine blew the engine
