We all write words and some are nice and not so nice and aimed at right and wrong things.

I always knew at some point Mickey Loft's Boarding House would write.

My mother was North Shields, family changed it's name to Smith when Great Uncle Carhil recieved 8 years for Manslaughter and eventually vanished with the family papers, but my mother's favourite phrase as I passed through was - "What do you think this is, Mickey Loft's Boarding House".

Well perhaps it was!?

This is a debt that perhaps should have happen sooner if I'd realised I had the ability.

Mickeys was always crowded
Sneered by the lack of money
You had to be desparate at Mickeys
Cos you must be in need

You didn't make your own way in Mickeys
You were the dregs for the clean
No one with anything stayed at Mickeys
People passed fast and clean

Always a home at Mickeys
Didn't matter who or what you were
Mickey supplied somewhere
And who cares what the world didn't see

You were always happy at Mickeys
Grub was there and not to be seen
You didn't wear a jacket at Mickeys
You just wore whatever was clean

Mickey had a loft sometime ago
He had his own ideas for the same
He never disputed your origin
To me Mickey you were all the same

Mickey has a piece of history
In a small place on a battered shore
Where the sea doesn't pretend it's miracles
But Mickey Loft's Boarding House for sure

In time all thoughts surface and need to be expressed in one way or another.

Thanks Bonnie

When I need to stop earning money, maybe a sign will go up somewhere "Mickey Loft's Board House".

Maybe at some time a book will get written but how many would read it compared to now

There are already 3 outlines of books including 1 covering the next three books.

I haven't been able to anyone in the UK interesting in my writing for 10 years - whether outlines of books, poetry or anything and I now refuse to subscribe to their publications on the chance they might publish and as you dont get published in your homeland you dont get published abroard, so I just build up the outlines and everyone reads the same stuff.

Hang onto your dream Dave never give up.
Maybe you will never be published and the eyes of some readers will never see or hear your passionate words, but we here at PIP are blessed to be able to read your rich words of poetry and words that may one day become a novel.

I would like you to know I read all your works as you print them giving us insight and beauty. Being a quiet person so many times I do not know what to say.
But I do enjoy reading your peotry.
Write on and Aim for the stars.

I believe Dr. Seus's first book was rejected 26 or 28 times before it was accepted by a publisher. Ernest Hemmingway had to publish The Old Man and the Sea himself! No publisher wanted it! ~ until they saw what a big seller it was. Then they came to him and on his terms and it is now a worldwide classic! Never give up!

Enjoyed this write! Keep at it! You WILL make it! You have the power within you to manifest your dreams into reality! Picture yourself doing book signings! Make it happen! Believe in yourself. You have talent but it is the talented ones who never give up that ultimately end up being successful!
