You sit there in your silent room
And contemplate the end.
Think about the things you've missed-
And things that might have been.

The dreams which once kept you alive,
Are fading day by day...
You wonder what you'll hold onto,
When the dreams all die away.

I wish I had the answer...
To the questions in your mind.
For fate is quite a trickster-
And quite often is unkind.

Through cyberspace' phenomena-
At least our lives have touched...
Perhaps but for a moment,
But let's treasure it as such.

For life and all it's vagaries,
May not be wrong, or right...
But may be mere coincidence-
Like ships which pass by night.

We see each other distantly...
Yet we abide alone...
The lights are quickly fading,
And before too long are gone.

John,
Always it is good to read the cowboy! Thank you sir.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

"For fate is quite a trickster-
And quite often is unkind..."

How true and how beautifully expressed in "Desperado" style....~~~P
