A Breath of May

So here I am, ever the boy damned
and forgotten by affection
rearranging my flowery poetry blooming inside me
by the faded light of anoter rejection
rearranging my thoughts and forget-me-nots
under the quiet rain falling from above
got to thinking of my starcrossed shoegazing
burden of an unrequited love
it's painful bliss to be the one never kissed
by another who doesn't feel the same way
that I do
you know I do

So there you are, a thousand miles away
but just a breath of May
springtime psalms ringing inside my mind
trying to feel okay today
softly aging and trying to understand me
and my budding mental maturity
while my heart, meek and mild, a reckless child
scanning feminine eyes for purity
it's blissful pain to be the one who is plain
and ordinary to her feral October eyes
but I'm so much more
and I wish you knew

And I wish you knew everytime I think about you
it's like a hurricane tearing inside me
what a pain, but oh what a joy to behold
these sad old feelings I thought faded away
from me in time
fully blooming into my eyes sometimes
when I think about you
and I wish you knew

So here we are, ever the love downplayed
we need a breath of May
springtime songs to sing inside our hearts
beating to feel love today
softly aging in eachother's understanding
rearranging our lives to fit the demanding
of a perfectly flawed love
like a broken diamond
and a hand to big for the glove
it sounds good to me
does it sound good to you?
maybe I'll ask you someday
then you'll finally know
finally to make it real, you'll know
that I am in love with you
and I am
you'll know that I am

...very amazing.
So much imagery, so much pain, love, determination, loneliness, sadness...
I'm going to keep this in my library.
This is beautiful.

Always, Alyssa

He was a man of sorrows
